Put/call ratio
Also called Put call ratio, put-call ratio
Puts divided by calls, for open interest or for volume, on the expirations you picked.
The put/call ratio is puts ÷ calls. On the option chain the totals line shows it twice: once for open interest and once for volume, over every strike of the expirations you picked. The strike range only chooses which rows show. The totals always cover every strike.
A ratio above 1 means more puts than calls in that total. It describes the chain's mix. It does not say which way price will go.
