Preferences
Your defaults for choosing a short strike, the risk profile and the target delta, which Athena and your AI app use when you don't say.
Preferences are your defaults for choosing a strike to sell. Set them in the Preferences section of your account page. They're saved as you change them.
| Preference | Choices | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Risk profile | 0.5, 1, 1.5, or 2 standard deviations of the expected move, from aggressive to very conservative | 1 SD |
| Target delta | 0.05 to 0.5 | 0.15 |
The risk profile is how far from the price a short strike should sit, measured in standard deviations of the larger of the expected move and the historical move. The target delta is the delta you'd like the short strike to have. Both mean what they mean on the strike selector, which scores strikes against them.
Who uses them
Athena and your connected AI app use them when you ask about a strike without saying how far out or what delta: "Which SPY put should I sell this week?" is answered at your risk profile and target delta. Say otherwise in the question and the question wins.
The pages keep their own controls. The strike selector opens at its defaults, and wheel and income has its own Δ target in its book.
Saved settings are separate
The app also remembers how you leave things: the chart's window and indicators, the overview's layout, your pinned pages. Those are saved settings, kept to your account so they follow you across devices. They're removed with your account, as preferences are.
Preferences need a Free or Pro account.
