Deleting your account

How to delete your Theta Vantage account, what it removes, what happens to a Pro subscription, and what you can remove without deleting the account.

You can delete your account yourself at any time, from the Delete account section at the foot of your account page.

How

  1. Choose Delete account….
  2. Read what goes, then type DELETE to confirm.
  3. Choose Delete account.

It happens at once and can't be undone. You're signed out, and the data deletion page opens with what was removed.

What it removes

Everything the account holds: your email and sign-in, your watchlist, tags, and pinned pages, your preferences and saved settings (the chart, the overview's layout, the wheel and income book), every Athena conversation, including ones you'd already removed from your list, everything Athena remembered about you, your watchers and their alerts, the browsers you turned notifications on for, the AI apps you connected, and messages you sent from the contact page while signed in.

The data deletion page is the full list, with what is kept for accounting and why.

If you have Pro

The subscription is cancelled at the same moment. The rest of the billing period isn't refunded, and tokens from an Athena pack end with the account. If the subscription can't be cancelled just then, nothing is deleted, and the dialog says so; try again in a few minutes.

To stop paying without deleting anything, manage your plan from the account page instead. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then move to Free.

Removing less

You don't have to delete the account to remove one thing:

  • An Athena conversation, or all of them, from Ask Athena.
  • What Athena remembers, one note at a time or all at once, or turn memory off, from the account page's Memory section.
  • A ticker, a tag, or a pinned page from your watchlist.
  • A watcher and its alerts from the Watchers page.

You can sign up again after deleting. That's a new account, starting empty.
